Job Description:
WSA - Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and operation of the internal and external systems users. May also be responsible for Internet/intranet web support. May provide service support for online systems. Specific duties include installing, troubleshooting, and assisting users in the proper and efficient use of the system, identifying systems needs and locating vendors, defining and monitoring systems for backups and disk use maintenance, and ensuring overall system integrity. May also supervise lower level administrators and recommend policies and procedures to enhance service and efficiency. In small companies, this position may hav etotal responsibility for administration and content. This position typically requires a bachelor's degree and two to three years relevant experience.

Milliman & Robertson - Provides technical analysis, installation, maintenance, and modification of operating system software. Determines best system software configuration ensuring hardware/software compatibility. Evaluates and recommends new system software products. Installs, tests, and implements new system software and manufacturer's maintenance releases and utilities. Analyzes system performance to ensure it is meeting availability and performance objectives. Resolves system software problems. Develops documentation on system specifications and operating instructions.

Maintains data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity. May require a bachelor's degree in a related area with at least 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Works under immediate supervision. Little creativity is required. Typically reports to a project leader or manager.

ESD - 15-1071 Network and Computer Systems Administrators: Install, configure, and support an organizations's local area network, wide are netwrok, and Internet system or a segment of a network system. Maintain and monitor network hardware and software to ensure network availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability. May supervise other network support and client server specialists and plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures.
